Sakir Mohammad is a graduate student in Journalism and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specializing in political communication, media, and disinformation studies. He has previously worked as a research associate at the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) at North South University, Bangladesh. His research explores political polarization, AI-generated disinformation, and media narratives in South Asia, with a particular focus on Bangladesh. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, contributed book chapters, and authored numerous op-eds in leading newspapers. Sakir is also the former Editor-in-Chief of the NSU Journal of Student Research. His broader academic goal is to advance Global South perspectives in communication and policy research.
